Evaluate the situation and propose solutions to develop the school counselors in the Southern region.
3. New and creative ideas:
– Evaluate the current situation of the school counselors in the South and the current situation of developing the school counselors in the South.
– Proposing solutions to develop the school counselors in the Southern region, contributing to the development of school counselors in the Southern region.
Developing the school counselors is a process of continuous, purposeful and orientation of management subjects, making the school consultation team ensure the quantity and quality. Consistent with the goals and tasks of the school. Development of the school counseling team is considerd in terms of quantity and quality, considering the need for school consultation and the level of response of the regional school consultation team South for school consultation activities.
The current situation of managing school staff in the southern region based on management functions is still limited, the contents of planning management teams for school consultation work represent the not the same. The level of organization and direction of implementation only stop at a low level according to the established scale. The implementation of activities in the function of checking and evaluating the management of the staff for school consultation is limited.
The situation of developing the school counselors in the South in the last 5 years analyzed on the level of management functions is still inadequate. Specifically, the level of effective implementation of the contents of planning the development of school consultation staff in the southern region has up to 4/6 contents of the survey to stop the average level or less. In organizing the implementation of the contents, it all falls into a weak and weak level (except to remind school counselors to periodically report as prescribed). In the direction of achieving positive results in the content guiding the school counselors to implement documents and plans of the school and organize reports and meetings to draw experience in the work develop the school counselors. The remaining contents reveal weak and inadequate weaknesses. In the inspection and evaluation, there are many limitations.
Overall evaluation of the development of the school consultation team in the southern region analyzed the function level to reach the “average” level. The level of meeting the management requirements in the development of school consultation staff in the South in the last 5 years only stopped at the average level, showing the unevenness of the content..
Surveying the necessity of a number of measures to develop the school counseling team shows that measures are necessary in developing teachers to meet the needs of students’ psychological consultations in Southern school. These measures are also assessed as feasible in the development of the school consultation team in the southern region today. Measures can be mentioned with a very feasible benchmark scale “to develop professional standards for school staff”; “Innovation in content, methods of education – training and research on school counseling”; “raising awareness of leaders at all levels on the management of school counseling”; “Assigning the task, the responsibility to manage the school consultation team for grassroots levels of government”.
